Hi, I can certainly see how at the end of the day, having a matrix like this assembled in wiki space will be a useful thing. Needing to fill out a word form for each idea seems a bit much, but will see what I can do. Might also help to have the issues already sent in in text abstracted into these boxes. I also wonder about eschewing proposed solutions at this point. Perhaps they belong in a different set of boxes. I am not sure that every change needs to be anchored in a problem. Some can be anchored in principles and other imperatives. avri On 12-Sep-14 03:03, Marika Konings wrote:
Hi Avri,
As one of the objectives of the group is to 'identify subjects for future issue reports', it was suggested that it might be helpful to collect as much information as possible about each subject to assist the group in this process and allow it to make a determination whether an issue should be addressed via policy development or whether there are other means to address it (or whether additional research / data would need to be gathered before staring policy development) and make recommendations accordingly to the GNSO Council. As such, staff developed the template that Steve circulated. However, if you and others are of the view that this is not helpful or that other or additional questions should be included, please let the list know. We are just trying to figure out a way to get from a long list of issues that in certain cases are described by not more than two or three words (and in many cases sound more like solutions than actual issues) to a detailed overview of the issues, including supporting data / information as well as recommendations to the GNSO Council to how these should / can be addressed.
Best regards,
Marika

For those that were able to attend the call on 8 Sept or listen to the MP3, you will have heard me mention a template that is intended to assist in collecting issues.

i guess i am new to this group, but did it agree to limit itself to these boxes? why?
