Hi All, I didn’t think we were going to just remove “Treatment of these strings was inconsistent.”, which some thought was a value judgment, but rather modify it to something like “Some believe that treatment of these strings was inconsistent.” I think this is consistent with the “Some” approach that is throughout the document. Well, as far as I know, we are still waiting for a full, official, report on the activities of the GNP at the time. Application by application. CW

Thanks Annebeth.
The answer to your question is in the immediately following sentences:
“Some of these TLDs were permitted to move forward, some were only permitted where an arrangement could be reached with the geographic territory in question, and others were either not allowed to proceed or are still the subject of dispute.”
Best,
Paul

Hi all
It could have been good to know “inconsistent” with what? In my mind, that word is used that way. If the “some” that suggested it could clarify that, perhaps it would be clearer`

Hi All,
I didn’t think we were going to just remove “Treatment of these strings was inconsistent.”, which some thought was a value judgment, but rather modify it to something like “Some believe that treatment of these strings was inconsistent.” I think this is consistent with the “Some” approach that is throughout the document.
Best,
Paul

Hi all
I have no strong objections to this. Actually, it is important to highlight it when it is only «some», so it does not seem like it is a view the whole group shares.

Dear all,
It appears that we neglected to walk through these new comments from Jorge on the call yesterday. If there are any strong objections to the following, please respond on list by 21:00 UTC tomorrow, 30 November:
* On page 12, remove sentence “Treatment of these strings was inconsistent.” * On page 42, add the word “some” to the sentence referenced below.
Kind regards,
Emily

Dear Emily
Please include the following comments in the consideration:
- Page 12: “Treatment of these strings was inconsistent.” à this is just the opinion expressed (as far as I know) by one member. “inconsistent” is a value call. We could say that there were different treatments – whether that differentiation was inconsistent or not has not been agreed.
- Page 42: the following heading/intro seems to reflect an agreed view, when it is only the view of “some”, hence it should read “Some of the issues problems and negative experiences that some Work Track members identified from the 2012 round include the following.”
Best regards
Jorge

In this case, it is being used to mean “not consistent,“ I.e., “inconsistent with each other” or “inconsistent with others in the same set.” For, example “The bread at Kayser is always good, but the soup is inconsistent” or “The treatment of babies with diaper rash was inconsistent.” Greg On Fri, Nov 30, 2018 at 10:58 AM Annebeth Lange <annebeth.lange@norid.no> wrote:
