Revised PTI staffing rationale
Dear members of IOTF, Attached, please find the revised PTI staffing rationale that reflects the discussion from the last IOTF call #13. We welcome any feedback you may have. Subject to review by this group, this proposal needs to be brought back to the full accountability list. There is a conversation on that list debating this issue, but without the benefit of these developments. A very fast read -- this looks good. I personally agree with Greg that this looks very good and believe that it is very responsive to the concerns that were raise. And I thank staff for responding in a very timely manner. Because of the time constraints, I think it would be a good idea to share this with the full CWG Stewardship as soon as possible. I will forward this to the RySG list and request feedback from RySG participants. Chuck, Agreed, it should go to CWG list. Thanks for the nudge. The following issue was raised on the RySG list: "The tricky part here is that current ICANN employees will be offered employment by PTI, but can refuse it and keep being employed by ICANN and seconded to PTI, leaving the new hires the only PTI employees." Am I correct in assuming that this would not be allowed? Chuck, the plan is to offer the IANA employees to transfer to PTI or apply to other jobs within ICANN. Obviously, we cannot force employees to work for PTI we can only hire replacements if they decide not to move. So regardless, all the IANA employees will be working for PTI at the latest 36 months after the transition. I hope this clarifies the plan, please let me know if you have any questions, thanks -- Best, Akram On Jun 24, 2016, at 9:27 PM, Gomes, Chuck <cgomes@verisign.com<mailto:cgomes@verisign.com>> wrote: The following issue was raised on the RySG list: "The tricky part here is that current ICANN employees will be offered employment by PTI, but can refuse it and keep being employed by ICANN and seconded to PTI, leaving the new hires the only PTI employees." Thanks Akram. That makes sense to me and it confirms what I thought, i.e., that the PTI staff members would not be allowed to be seconded ICANN employees beyond that point. Correct? Hi, While I am still uncomfortable on the dual pull on the President role, it does seem a reasonable transition compromise position. thanks avri On 25-Jun-16 06:16, Akram Atallah wrote:
