ICANN staff is seeking comments on the Report on preliminary question Current Status of the Uniform Dispute Resolution (UDRP).
The Uniform Dispute Resolution (UDRP) was established in 1999 In order to provide an alternative to costly litigation to resolve international disputes in generic cybersquatting The top-level domains (gTLDs).

The report describes a preliminary matter how the UDRP has addressed the problem of cybersquatting to date and makes recommendations on whether ICANN Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council review of the UDRP. The preliminary question Report updated to reflect the community comments received and a final report after Issue be submitted to the GNSO Council for consideration as to whether The GNSO Council should review the UDRP.
