Working group reorganisation

Dear Colleagues: As per our deliberations, we decided to suspend the WG's operations due to tremendous inefficiency in how the groups are operating. Some groups have never convened, and the others have done limited work considering the period of time they have existed. After a series of conversations with colleagues in the ICANN eocosystem, The most popular suggestion was creating one working group to coordinate activities by the RALO or the Board. If necessary sub groups can be created to address specific areas of interest. You can deactivate these subgroups when their tasks are complete. This should create a less unwieldy process and address the concerns raised about the number and effectiveness of the groups being created. ES BREVE RESUMEN DE LA REUNIÓN DE LIDERAZGO LACRALO Fecha: 16 de abril de 2026 Modalidad: Virtual Convoca: Liderazgo LACRALO Elabora: Secretaría LACRALO La reunión de liderazgo de LACRALO se desarrolló con el objetivo de dar seguimiento a las líneas estratégicas de trabajo de la región, en alineación con los espacios globales de ICANN, así como fortalecer la participación de las ALS y miembros de la comunidad. Temas tratados Planificación de reuniones y actividades Definir la fecha de la próxima reunión mensual. Coordinar la planificación del próximo webinar que presentó Eunice. Considerar un mínimo de 15 días de anticipación para la invitación de ponentes. Newsletter LACRALO Presentación de avances del boletín informativo. Establecer fecha de publicación de la versión final correspondiente al primer trimestre. Actualización de Wikis de las ALS Se identificó falta de información relevante en varias páginas wiki. Se reitera que la actualización es responsabilidad de los miembros de cada ALS. Hannah, Sandra y Laura están realizando verificación del estado de las ALS. Topics addressed Meeting and activity planning - Define the date of the next monthly meeting. - Coordinate the planning of the upcoming webinar led by Eunice. - Consider a minimum of 15 days’ notice for inviting speakers. LACRALO Newsletter - Presentation of progress on the newsletter. - Establish the publication date for the final version corresponding to the first quarter. ALS Wikis Update - Lack of relevant information was identified in several wiki pages. - It was reiterated that updates are the responsibility of each ALS. - Hannah, Sandra, and Laura are verifying the status of the ALSes. Applications – Andes Region B - Follow-up on candidate applications corresponding to Andes Region B. Management Metrics - It was agreed to invite Sergio to present updated metrics previously shared during his last report, or alternatively to follow up via email sent by the Secretariat with copy to Leadership. Individual Members - The inclusion of individual members was discussed. - The topic remains under development to define its structure and implementation. Relevant aspects The need to strengthen active participation of ALSes was highlighted, along with the importance of improving transparency in decision-making processes and reinforcing the relevance of having clear metrics on impact and participation.
