Dear colleagues, I hope to be able to attend this week's meeting. However in case I get preempted, I've put together my current take on our spreadsheet for Sharp S. For openers, here are my assumptions:1. if a domain name including a Sharp S is legal, then it exists2. if a domain name with a double S is legal, then it exists3. a "failure of service" happens when the user enters a legal domain name, but gets a "Not found" response. 4. a "misconnection" occurs when the user enters a domain name, whether legal or not, and ends up at a different webpage. That is, one different from what he thought he wanted. * :Maybe" because it still isn't absolutely clear whether, if the TLD is "allocatable", the domain name must be granted only to the holder of that domain name with the variant TLD. -- if not, then misconnection is a problem. That is, it's a No. -- if so, the only reason to have it is because the owner wants to do a redirect, so both names reach the same webpage. That is, it's a Yes. Hoping to talk to you all tomorrow. the reference to the last five calls is a good point, Mirjana. It seems that we have been working on this topic for several months now. I agree that it's important and due to the IDNA2003/2008 issue it's also different from the rest, but I think we should move on to other topics rather soon. We already had possible a solution (which is currently still contained in our proposal in Section 6.7.2) suggesting to use the variant allocatable solution. If I'm not mistaken at some point the majority of the group was in favour of that solution. Instead of spending many further weeks, could we maybe check whether after the recent intensive discussions, the majority is still in favour of this solution? Then we could go on with other topics. If not, then it's of course sensible to continue the current path. Just a suggestion to cut the ongoing discussion short, because we're already way behind our envisioned time table.
