The objective of the "Enhancing the Effectiveness of ICANN's Multistakeholder Model – Next Steps" paper is to build upon existing work taking place across the ICANN community to holistically address the community-identified priority topics and enhance the effective and efficient functioning of ICANN's multistakeholder model. This paper describes work currently underway, identifies gaps in those efforts that would benefit from inclusion in this effort, and suggests a path toward addressing each of those gaps, including proposed work processes or mechanisms, how they may be applied, and which groups may be best positioned to lead those efforts.The Board is seeking the community's input on the following: the work plan; the remaining work areas, and the evaluation mechanism. [Webinar Recording] The COVID Registration Spike and Abuse: Lessons Learned

Friends and Colleagues, ICANN’s Registry and Registrar Stakeholder Groups (Contracted Parties House [CPH]) organized a webinar entitled “The COVID Registration Spike and Abuse: Lessons Learned from a Contracted Party Perspective”. This 90-minute webinar had presentations from ICANN, Law Enforcement, Registries, and Registrars, in addition to some remarks from registries and registrars from across the globe. Since the outset of the Coronavirus pandemic, there has been a sharp increase in domain names related to the virus. There is an understandable concern by many in the ICANN community that these domains were/are seeking to exploit the situation and use these registrations to propagate systemic abuse. With several months of learning under our collective belt, this webinar seeks to take a look at the data related to these registrations (presented by ICANN Org), discuss concerns around the registrations from law enforcement (PSWG), and examine abuse levels and responses to that abuse from registries and registrars (CPH). ICANN Learn Course - Digital Trade and Global Internet Governance

Friends and Colleagues, I would like to point you to the ICANN Learn course entitled “Digital Trade and Global Internet Governance”. The course is a series of video tutorials that span over 1-8 minutes in length. The course consists of 5 main modules, in addition to a 6th module dedicated to an overall assessment: Introduction About the Internet A Global Outlook Digital Trade, Cybercrime, and More Sharing and Privacy Final Assessment Each module would take 10-40 minutes.
