Yes Dear Hadia, It's useful to collect data about the ME Space community members, this will give us a view about the Community composition. Thank you for the clarification. Friendly regards Chokri On Wed, Sep 10, 2025 at 3:49 PM Hadia Abdelsalam Mokhtar EL miniawi < Hadia@tra.gov.eg> wrote:
Dear Chokri,
This is not about what the charter of the ME Space says about the current members, this is about knowing who are the current members of the ME Space. I am proposing that before we start reviewing *anything* we know who are the current members of the space.
Kindest regards
Hadia Elminiawi

Dear Hadia,
The current Charter <https://icannwiki.org/images/c/c9/ME_Space_Charter.pdf> mentions that " Membership in the ME Space is open to all MEAC community members interested in ICANN activities ".
Shall we review this membership clause (and consequently review the charter )or ignore it ?
I'm personally keeping the Membership clause as it is.
Friendly regards
Chokri

Dear Tijani and All,
First my apologies for missing yesterday’s call. Regarding the proposal of reviewing the charter, I believe it’s essential that, before we begin any such work, we establish clarity on the current membership space, we need clarity on who its members are. Specifically, we need to know who is subscribed to the mailing list and thus entitled to contribute to the work of the space. This lack of clarity was one of the main reasons we never conducted elections in the past – except for the most recent leadership elections, which proceeded without the benefit of a fully validated membership base. Establishing such clarity now will enable us not only to move forward with the charter review but also to ensure our work is inclusive and transparent.
Accordingly, I propose we start with validating the membership base of the space, which will embark on its work starting with the review of the charter.
Best
Hadia

Dear ME Space Co-Chairs and all members,
Following yesterday's discussion on the call, I would like to propose that the ME Community consider a review of the current ME Space charter to better clarify some articles and especially those concerning the membership, the selection of the leadership team and other refinements.
In case my proposal is accepted, I'm ready to participate in the efforts of the review.
Best
Tijani
