Yes. At least the cities that you mentioned are transportation hubs. Is Honolulu? I sincerely don't know but I doubt it.
Honolulu has extensive connections all over the Pacific, dating from the original trans-Pacific routes in the 1930s. It's quite easy to get to from most places in the Pacific rim. I wouldn't be thrilled about a meeting in Hawaii because it is a pain in the neck to get to from North America if you're not on the west coast, because it is so very far west. If you're in in New York or Toronto or Washington everywhere in Europe is closer than Honolulu. (Moscow is 300 miles closer to New York than HNL is.) The nominal reason to rotate the ICANN meetings around the world is to allow locals to go, but HNL is not an easy trip from most of North America. If it were up to me, I'd say have it in Toronto, and if you don't like the weather, use all the nice heated tunnels among all the downtown buildings and you'll never have to go outside. If cold weather is just too scarey, have it in Los Angeles at ICANN HQ and save money, or have it somewhere in Texas which is central and warm. R's, John
