This morning in the board liaison candidacy discussion, Alan Greenberg asked me a question that went something like, "considering the NA region is calling for your resignation because you don't have time for your ALAC duties as they currently stand, why should we vote for you for board liaison?"
So far the only comment of this kind has come from Danny. The "NA region", so far as I can tell, is not calling for anything. In response to the performance document sent by staff and Danny's suggestions, I have had a lengthy talk with the chair of ALAC on this issue and will not deal with it further until she has. On a logical level -- a resignation request at this point is dumb because you're at the end of your term. On an informal level -- Not only do I have no intention of asking for your resignation, it's my hope that you can serve as our ALAC rep for another two years.
But if the NA-RALO is indeed asking for my resignation, I would have appreciated the opportunity to address it in another forum beforehand, or would have appreciated hearing it directly from the elected chair of the NA-RALO rather than from a nomcom appointee. Sigh.
I really hope this was just a misunderstanding. There was certainly NO intent from me that you would be put in that needlessly embarrassing situation. To make it absolutely clear; There is NO call for Beau's resignation being considered by NARALO. - Evan
