As the Chair, I'd rather not pick someone. The original goal of the draft was to avoid voting altogether, since that's a rat hole too, as we have various organizations of unequal size. On the first draft, we had passed "no consensus" situations to the Nominating Committee for resolution, but I seem to recall that ICANN rejected that option for some reason. If it's a decision between "chair picks" and "voting," however, I'd go with voting. Are there any options we hadn't considered? Bret
...and then the 1 or 2 candidates with the most votes would be elected?

doesn't sound right to me. Why doesn't the chair call a vote?
