As i've worked with ProBono students in the past, there is really only - one - thing we'd need to develop as a group by the end of July. That being the project proposal. We could use last year's proposal as a starting point - as a template and update it to reflect it's for something in 07/08 and ICANN related. Some more details on the process.. 1. First, we need to develop the project description. We should, if possible - try to come up with a list of high level activities that the student(s) might be able to do as well as the issue areas involved (internet policy, governance, etc..) I'll review the document before the deadline and incorporate any comments. Artificial scarcity would be interesting. I think net neutrality has been overdone already. Since they are law students, something trademark related would be appropriate. I'd be interested to see something come out of meshing the artificial scarcity/additional TLDs with the trademark stuff. As you can see from the email below, Privaterra has been offered the help of some pro-bono law students over the fall/winter. I'd like to - share - this opportunity with NA RALO, as I think one or more law students could prove quite helpful for us to help develop white papers, reports and contributions to ongoing ICANN processes.

Hi, I'm Kenneth, the new U of T PBSC Program Coordinator this year, and it was really nice talking to you over the phone just now. Attached please find five documents, and I will need you to fill in three and submit them back to me before the end of July, in order for me to match Privaterra with law student volunteers this fall -- please complete for us the project description form, the organization profile form, and the disclaimer/release of liability form. It would be best if you could e-mail me the project description and the contact form so that I have an electronic copy, but for the release I will need you to fax or mail it since it requires a signature. Our fax number is 416-934-4536.
As soon as I receive all of this documentation from you, I will be able to include Privaterra in our database, from which our students can select the types of projects that they are interested in working on. If you have any questions in the interim please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone. I hope to hear from you soon!
