Thank you for this, Alain. I am assuming this belongs in the IANA Portal section? Is the recommendation in your text replace the recommendation in the draft report (see below)? — Recommendations: IANA Communications ICANN org has committed to increasing the level of security and responsiveness of the Root Zone Management Portal and root zone management process provided by IANA to TLD managers and the change notification system. During implementation of the new IANA portal, ICANN org should, at a minimum, implement: • (Emergency changes should be actionable as soon as reasonably possible. IANA should establish a clear process, including a reasonable time frame for emergency changes, and communicate this process to relevant stakeholders.)SSR2 notes that ICANN has been developing a new portal internally, which should increase technical security provision, including: • Require multi-factor authentication for accessing the portal. • Currently communications are handled via unencrypted email: the integrity and authenticity of the requested change, IANA’s response, and the confirmation are not given. IANA should technically ensure integrity and authenticity of these communications. — -Heather

As requested during today’s call, I have copied Alain’s findings and recommendation into the "SSR2 DRAFT report - recs and findings (first pass)” Google Doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PAG8kh4Jg_6BNMbkqebVpyqebw5mPjXr3ie-4rg2... <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PAG8kh4Jg_6BNMbkqebVpyqebw5mPjXr3ie-4rg2...>) as a potential replacement for the IANA Portal section (page 40). Both items are still in the document so people can compare and decide what should stay in the document going forward. Thanks, Heather

The gaps that I am talking about are in the first tab of this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Wkodgk-MqpaoGVO3ll3RJIk8oIdxG_wPL8Oy... In addition, the second tab has tasks that need to be done before our face to face meeting next month. Please sign up for a few of them. We will try to get names for all of these on the call. Thanks, Russ
