Hi Shah, The ballot page is working for me. All eligible voting candidates will get a mail and there is a link which leads to the voting page. For ALAC candidates its ranking and VC candidates it is choosing the right candidate. If you are facing any other issues, please write to Staff directly (since the Discuss list has both community members and voting members). Hi Jahangir, I am unable to understand the question, especially considering the following two points: 1. Each RALO functions independently and has its own Rules of Procedures (ROPs) 2. APRALO elections are held as per APRALO Rules of Procedures. My suggestion would be to please go through the ROP once again and then make suggestions based on what is mentioned for the next round of elections. Hi Amrita, Thanks for your reply. As per APRALO ROI, There is nothing motioned about Voting Ranking in Ballot in Section 30.2; In Section 30.2.7 specified that " For a Consensus decision to be considered valid the meeting must be quorate and APRALO Members must have been present in person, telephonically, or by other means explicitly approved by the APRALO" Based on the above sections, if the APRALO leadership team decided to make Voting Raking in Ballot then there should be consensus document or meeting minutes (at least). So can you share with us the relevant consensus document in this regard. Aside, If one position is open ( APRALO or ALAC ) then we're supposed to select one out of three and in case someone doesn't like to choose anyone out of three in that case should have the option to abstain. Dear Jahangir, As I mentioned in my earlier mail - Please READ the ROP Carefully and all clauses. The answer lies there :) Clause 30.2.4 states "*Where possible and practical and wherever electronic voting methods are used, the method of voting will be 'Instant Run-Off Voting*" If you check online what instant run off is - It is a ranked – choice voting system where voters rank candidates in order of preference (1st choice, end choice, third, etc)SEE : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting [en.wikipedia.org] <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voti...> *Hope this clarifies your question on why ranking. The staff take the elections very seriously and conduct it as per the ROP.* On another note I also wish to express my concern. *The voting ballots are sent confidentially to the Primary ALS or UIMs. While who to vote can be decided by the ALS as a whole, the norm is that the ballots are not to be shared.* As per staff, the Primary for ISOC Bangladesh is Shah *therefore it would be more appropriate for the Primary of your ALS who has access to the ballot to raise any concern that the ALS has.* In case you have any further questions, please attend the APRALO monthly call today at 6 UTC. Dear Jahangir, Kindly re-read what Cheryl has written earlier " In a selection/election with three or more candidates are on a slate for a selection/election require an Instant Run-off Vote (which was used). That has been the standard in ALAC and APRALO since the RALO's inception and the ALAC's first set of RoP." Trust that clarifies why it has been used in ALAC and not VC election since ALAC has 3 candidates and VC has 2. Anyone has the right to ask questions, however, I have concerns related to maintaining confidentiality of the eBallot and that is what I raise. Hi Jahangir,
I am unable to understand the question, especially considering the following two points:
1. Each RALO functions independently and has its own Rules of Procedures (ROPs) 2. APRALO elections are held as per APRALO Rules of Procedures.
My suggestion would be to please go through the ROP once again and then make suggestions based on what is mentioned for the next round of elections.

Hi Shah,
The ballot page is working for me.
All eligible voting candidates will get a mail and there is a link which leads to the voting page.
For ALAC candidates its ranking and VC candidates it is choosing the right candidate.
If you are facing any other issues, please write to Staff directly (since the Discuss list has both community members and voting members).

In a selection/election with three or more candidates are on a slate for a selection/election require an Instant Run-off Vote (which was used). That has been the standard in ALAC and APRALO since the RALO's inception and the ALAC's first set of RoP. <https://about.me/cheryl.LangdonOrr?promo=email_sig&utm_source=product&utm_me...> Cheryl Langdon-Orr about.me/cheryl.LangdonOrr <https://about.me/cheryl.LangdonOrr?promo=email_sig&utm_source=product&utm_me...> On Thu, 15 May 2025 at 14:02, Jahangir Hossain via APAC-Discuss < apac-discuss@icann.org> wrote:
Hi Amrita, Thanks for your reply.
As per APRALO ROI, There is nothing motioned about Voting Ranking in Ballot in Section 30.2; In Section 30.2.7 specified that " For a Consensus decision to be considered valid the meeting must be quorate and APRALO Members must have been present in person, telephonically, or by other means explicitly approved by the APRALO"
Based on the above sections, if the APRALO leadership team decided to make Voting Raking in Ballot then there should be consensus document or meeting minutes (at least). So can you share with us the relevant consensus document in this regard.
Aside, If one position is open ( APRALO or ALAC ) then we're supposed to select one out of three and in case someone doesn't like to choose anyone out of three in that case should have the option to abstain.
