The summary is that funds sent for Outreach in Afghanistan to Omar our member arrived and was used and Omar banker later asked that it be returned that it was recalled by BC. We said we did not ask for it to be recalled. La Caixa our banker did not either. So, it is missing somewhere?! As Chris advised, this is just to let you know what is happening. I suggest Chris that we wait and see the outcome of La Caixa formal enquiry. Omar's bank manager request permission form him to remove the funds saying the intermediary bank had not settled. The funds have not returned to La Caixa. Omar has asked his AIB Afgan Int Bank what is happening and they have not replied. La Caixa have asked the foreign banks for info and they have not replied. I met with our bank manager today and she thinks the money had been removed from the beneficiary account because of compliance reasons and not intermediary settlement reasons. Will keep you informed, any thoughts or advice welcome. We perhaps should advise BC outreach committee and Excom in first instance. . Jimson and Chris, My banker called and said there are several corresponding banks in between, and one of them did not transfer the amount onwards and the next bank (who did not receive the amount) asks for refund. My banker does not know where the money is stuck, but they asked if you, Jimson, can send an immediate inquiry to your bank (the one who originated the transfer), to find out and re-initiate the transfer.
