Draft comments on the CSC Effectiveness Review's report
Dear Colleagues, As you may remember, CSC Effectiveness Review Team chose a light-weight approach and skillfully conducted the review, thus, showing that even in ICANN environment it is indeed possible to do things and get results quickly and efficiently. They have published the draft report: https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/csc-effectiveness-initial-16jan1 9-en.pdf To support the team, their findings and approach they used, the Council could submit their comments. The draft of Council's comments (Google docs, as agreed): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ndCtyayeLIgh94Re7kyCk4oLWqPljJ1o-aPJeZjl ah0/edit Do you support the idea and the text? Dear Katrina, Thanks for it. Some edits on one paragraph to improve it a bit. See it below. Best, Giovanni Comment on Recommendation 3: The CSC develop an overview of the skills and expertise required The ccNSO Council shares the concern of the Review Team about the importance of ensuring high quality CSC membership. The effectiveness of the CSC could be at stake if appointing organisations are not able to select suitable candidates. The ccNSO Council supports the recommendation that the CSC develops a checklist of the skills and expertise required for its membership. The current members and liaisons should be checked against the desired skill set. The checklist will help any future selection processes, including the candidates proposed by the ccNSO. Dear all, I’m all fine with the version as it currently reads (taking into account the edits by Giovanni and Pablo). Think it is good a) to confirm that CSC is working efficiently b) to acknowledge the efforts and used methodology by the RT and c) to endorse their findings Kind regards, Peter Peter Vergote Legal & Corp.
