Hello, I wish to request that ICANN not proceed with the Verisign agreement without input from the community of owners of .COM domains. I think that you will find a more agreeable group of clients if you involve us in the decisions, and are less likely to lose clients to other domains, which may result in bigger losses than the relatively small near term gains offered by the Verisign agreement. I’m a small business owner and freelancer. I use my .com web address as a critical client acquisition tool. Raising rates without providing any material benefit is simply price gouging. Do not proceed with 8 increases over the next decade. One of the great things about the Internet is that a person can go to a registrar, grab a name and have their own corner of the largest collaborative effort in human history. The low prices of DNS names have spurred innovation by ensuring that no one is priced out of access to the DNS system. I am deeply concerned by the proposal for ICANN to collaborate with a for-profit organization. I fear that the profit motives of Verisign will override the goals of ICANN and result in another business entity that exists solely to make money, at the expense of the Internet and the DNS system as a whole. I am also concerned with the focus on "attacks on the security and stability of DNS" being used for potential price increases. This same language has been used to erode civil liberties in the US over the past two decades. I am worried that the same tactic will be used here to increase prices on DNS names past the easily accessible levels we have now, and create another system where only large corporations and the wealthy can participate. To Whom It May Concern, I am concerned about the proposed changes to domain pricing. Particularly given the freedom to raise them significantly and the lack of transparency in the process. While I only personally own a few domains, the cost of these will not only add up, but likely prevent me from trying out new ones. And, let's be honest, as an American, paying $10-15 per year per domain isn't really a huge burden. So going to $15-20 wouldn't really seem like a heavy lift. In practical terms, I would certainly be willing to see fair changes in the system. What I really don't want to see is a radical lack of transparency and agencies feeling free to jack up their prices without real oversight. Please reconsider the proposal and make a determined effort to make transparency and oversight of changes a higher priority. Grace and Peace, Drew Downs

To whom it may concern, I as a website owner, am entirely disappointed by your deal with Verisign. Consider my one voice multiplied by 100. Most people agree with me but haven't taken the time to voice their opinion. Please keep me informed as this progresses. Thanks, Danny

Hi, I have strong concerns and do not wish for such proposed amendment of the .com registry. - It ill allow .com domain prices to grow by more than 70% - The amendment seems to be due to a one off payment from Verisign of 20M I am concerned of the move as a .com domain user - and how this will impact businesses and individuals. We should not have these bribes happening at the detriment of the internet users. --- Sebastian Rodriguez

The current pricing is more than sufficient considering the volume you must do. Increasing the costs will all but guarantee that only the most resource-flush companies and people will be able to register domain names, which will stifle innovation and cause harm to young companies. You have a monopoly here -- use it responsibly, don't be greedy.

Dear sirs, sticking it to the little guy huh? I’m homeless, living inside a two seat truck, in Rancho Santa Margarita CA., and trying to get out from under. Raising prices on me unjustifiably is nonsense. FocalFind.com & StoicMagic.com are two of my ways out I have from my situation. I would appreciate that you not start raising prices on me like this and somehow find a better way, that looks out for people like me. Thank you, Bob Richtman
