I am a registrant of multiple .com domain names for my small business and non-profit. I am against the proposed price increase to .com domains. There is not a clear benefit to the users other than Verisign making much more money and continuing to profit for an unknown reason. We need to keep prices fair and reasonable for the small businesses and families they support. You are to be operating in the publics best interest so I urge you to do so and not on the financial gains that Verisign would obtain. I find it very suspicious that Verisign wants the increase while so many other registrants of other domain extensions are managing those just fine. We need to avoid yet another high priced monopoly that hurts the small business and individual. Show us EXACTLY where the monies would benefit the consumer? If its security than you need to show us the issues, how the money would be spend and provide true accountability and transparency. To raise prices just because the current agreement has run out and its been several years is NOT. A reason! I am against Amendment 3. Sincerely, Kim Evans

Dear Sir or Madam, I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I heard from my namespace ISP that you would like to raise the cost of owning domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Best Regards. Hello. I'm using my domain in .com for personal purpose, I have no money income from selling ad or products/services, nonetheless I paid for it. Last time I paid near 90$ for domain renewal for 5 years, most likely your changes will lead to domain cost increase by 21% every 5 years. It's really hard to understand for why I pay near 20$ per year now and why I need to pay more. Why most other domains cost cheaper than domain in .com. zone and which expenses do you have that should costs more. ICANN doesn't support domains on ns servers and did nothing for me. If that changes be accepted I will just change zone for my domain. Your future income from me: (20$ - registrar_fee)*0 =0$ Not a big deal, but I sure I'm not only one who will made same decision. -- Ivan

Of course a limited resource will be more expensive than one that is less so. And, of course, the price will ultimately fluctuate with demand. And, the cost of producing the resource will be factored into the total cost. All this said, however, I'd like to see the justification for the proposed change. How is it that the cost of maintaining a database of unique strings is suddenly going to spike over the next few years? It seems pretty unlikely. How is it in the public interest to make the .com namespace more expensive? There's no way the price increase will impact the bottom line of large or even medium commercial enterprises. Even if the yearly cost of a domain increases 100% overnight, that won't even register on the balance sheet for, say, Netflix, Amazon, Microsoft, or Wells Fargo. The only people who will notice this are those on the margins. This will shut down the voices of those who can just barely afford to participate. This seems like a play to grab a bunch of cash while screwing over the people who have the least power. If Verisign needs the money that badly, then we should be paying a lot more attention to their situation. Maybe they need help -- help that might look like lightening their responsibilities, or overseeing their finances. Don't do this. It's not good for anyone who isn't Verisign.

Hello, Allowing a private for-profit company to decide on the prices is wrong. Domains are public for the whole world, their price should not change according to one country's history of prices. The real cost of a domain registration almost has not increased since the early 2000s, if it has at all, in fact it has probably decreased. Jacobo Vilella Vilahur Barcelona, Spain
