Hello, This is an opinion on the .COM prices increase that is going to happen after January 2020. I have several hundreds .com domains and this increase in prices is going to affect me and the other "little guys" and "little girls" like me in a major way! Do you know how I feel about the increase, well I feel like shit, because of you Corporate Monsters are doing everything to squeeze every bit of living breath out of the "little guy" - you greedy bastards! Instead of finding ways of decreasing the costs for us the working folks, you and the rest of Corporate mafia is coming up with "brilliant ideas" to drain our resources... Needless to say, I and thousands of the "little guys" are against this ICANN change. Against this price increase, no matter how "mild" you think the impact will be! Stop the price increase...

It is disgusting and WRONG that only ICANN and Verisign have participated in this decision to raise .COM prices! These changes would have a significant impact on the Internet for years to come, and we the people are OPPOSED to the price increases and the unscrupulous way this is being attempted (the lack of transparency and accountability regarding the contract, the millions of dollars slated for ICANN, and the whole closed-door process). Like many people i believe in the internet being a free and open space for the sharing of information It has become evident that the internet as a whole is being consolidated into a handful of platforms owned by a small number of Tech Companies. Such as Facebook, Google and Amazon One of the only ways to have your own space on the internet outside of the reach of big techs ever-changing terms of service. Is to purchase your own domain and hosting. Increasing the price of purchasing a domain name. Even if this price change is very small. May be enough to stop smaller domain owners from renewing or buying new domains. I already have noticed that many small businesses still use Gmail addresses and Facebook pages instead of hosting their own websites and email. I can see why many business owners may do this. After-all why bother buying your own domain names, email and hosting when Google and Facebook will happily provide all the internet services you may need for free. Besides the data collection and lack of Privacy. Please don't play into Big Tech's hands Thank you for your consideration.

The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. This change will disproportionately affect small business owners and individuals who run a small number of websites, potentially pushing them off the internet altogether. Your decision about increasing the .COM prices is greedy, yet alone the fact that only two entities are making a decision affecting millions negatively. For the private gain of ICANN and Verisign, you will cripple businesses and domain owners by closure or migration.
