This is absolutely unjustified. A .com name is inanimate and holds no service requirement other than records keeping. There is nothing here but a desire to increase costs to owners with no value add. I vote no and expect anyone representing the .com owners to vote no to this idea as well. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. There is not much to say, prices of domains are high as it is. Since there is no competition the prices need to be fair. Please do not allow them to raise the prices as outline. Thanks, Anthony

Please do not approve the proposed amendment. The .COM registry is hard enough for smaller companies to participate in. Raising the prices would only hamper them more. I have worked with Verisign in the past and found them to be a very difficult company to work with. I do not support them being the primary .COM registrar and definitely not for them to increase fees. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. Hello! Do not increase prices for .com domains. We do not need any more cost increases when it comes to owning and registering a domain. It's already way too expensive to host own .com domain.

I have great concerns in all these anti consumer practices from ICANN lately. Clearly the US corruption is spreading wider and wider. I hope the EU soon interferes and ensures proper consumer rights since ICANN and by extension the US clearly are a poor guardian of the internet. Who benefits from these proposed changes? I think it is a very safe bet that some folks at the top of both ICANN and Verisign are the only ones on that list.
