Small businesses and web enthusiasts will be negatively affected by any increase in the price of domains. This will have a negative impact on innovation and web security as enthusiasts will be forced to use less secure, obscure top-level domains!

To whom it may concern, I am a small business owner and registrant of many .com domains. I strongly urge you to reject the Verisign increase to the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains. Price increases without reasonable justification will dramatically increase the value of .com domains, drive up business operating costs, and potentially make even having a website cost prohibitive for many small business owners such as myself. Dear ICANN Board, I am writing you to express my objection to the changes contract you have with Verisign, Inc. to operate the top-level domain .COM. These changes in the contract will result in a price increase of the .com domains. As an African student in a third world country, I believe that such an increase will be felt mostly by the already disadvantaged people of developing nations. People in third world countries still lack an equal and free access to the internet. Increasing the prices of the most used domain (.COM) will be a step back in the democratization of the internet in the world. I hope my comment will make you reconsider the changes to the contract with Verisign to not allow any increase in the prices of the .com domains in the forseable future. Hi,.com is the most used tld in the world. Many people use them because of the acceptable price.So many people need their domain to make great projects. You could send out a contest which is the best .com website. To whom it may concern, I disagree with your decision to increase .com pricing. This decision will not only make it more difficult for a small business to keep it's overhead down, it will make it more difficult to start a small business. If you make this platform inaccessible it will only expand the gap between wealthy established businesses and their budget conscious new competitors. Dear Sir / Madam I want to respond to what I am hearing about the suggested 70% increase in domain name pricing over the next 10 years. I want to express my agitation at this unfairness. What is the reason for such increases? I believe in the freedom of business and the right to make money, and the internet is one of the last places where there is easy access to people to do this. I also believe that you should be able to adjust your prices but why so much? Please receive this as a complaint and a huge thumbs down John Dionysiou

It has come to my attention that there is an intended change to the pricing of the .com address. I do not believe this is necessary or productive and will be harmful to small business as a result. If this takes place it will no doubt force small business owners to rethink and change. This all costs time and money better spent on advancement than lining pockets of the already have. You've clearly hired Ajit Pai because your delusional tripe of an organization has pulled a dirty trick right out of the FCC playbook. I do not support price increases for com biz org or any other TLD for that matter. It's time to disband ICANN. First you create gTLD rush that no one asked for to line your coffers, then you become addicted to cash flow and want bribes from Verisign against all prior arrangements over the past 30 years. ICANN must go. We will be donating to any candidate who leads the cheer against you.

Hello, It is sad to see that the very organization in charge of overseeing domain names is making decisions without informing the public, behind closed doors. Domain names are essential to businesses trying to start up, sometimes with so little money that they can barely afford hosting to go along with the domain names. Increasing the price, or even ALLOWING the increase of price of .com domain names 8 out of 10 years is plain ludicrous considering .coms are already at the top of the list as far as pricing is concerned. While I do understand the need to make money and the spam associated with having domain names for cheap, that is just the cost of doing business. What I don't understand is why can we not make some of the hundreds of new TLDs released over the last few years equivalent in price to the .com domains. This would solve a lot, and I mean A LOT of spam issues that people are facing, and you would still see an increase in profits if that is what your ultimate goal is. You should be here to protect your users, not your sellers. This isn't about YOU, this is about US. The dreamers and every day believers that are trying to make something of our lives and start a business in this already tough business landscape filled with regulations and dream crushing corporations. Of all things to worry about, we should not be worried about paying more just to keep our website address. If you'd like to see additional profits, why don't we fix the "premium domain parking," increasing only new TLD pricing, or focus on creating a new way to measure/issue domain authority to good, law-abiding users. There's PLENTY of other things you can be focusing on. In no way is this warranted or fair to the every day user. The internet is not something that should be controlled by agencies like yours in the first place... this abuse of power in charging more and more is an example of how money hungry, inconsiderate corporations operate and think only for their own selfish benefit now today. I truly hope you read this and consider other alternatives. Something like allowing price increases serves no benefit to the consumers you serve. But unfortunately it doesn't seem like you're not in the position to care because you will benefit either way. Well hear this loud and clear, WE CARE, and this is UNJUST.
