Hi, I am Charles Egwuagu, a web developer in Nigeria. I want to use this medium to ask that the price increase for .com will cause so much headache for us here in Nigeria. We are already facing so much pressure from unstable economy and bad government policies, we do not need further complication by having to deal with further price hike. If Nigerian youths have any hope for a better tomorrow, the internet has to be part of it, do make it harder for us. Thanks for your understanding.

Dear admins! We do not care about VeriSign (Inc.) wanting to stock up their income! We want .com domains to stay as affordable as till now to give everyone a chance for running his website with a .com TLD. One of the biggest arguments against that would be, that people might change their domain names for their websites from .com, to something else, and that would be a shame! We are watching every movement you do, and we will not be quiet! Angry regards, Andrei

Dear ICANN, As regards the proposed amendment 3 to the pricing of the .com domains in the registry agreement; as a Hosting Company, this is a welcome development. I am in total support because I would want an internet business environment for the serious-minded people. There are too many issues to be addressed but this particular proposal is very welcome. People with great positive ideas and resources should be allowed to influence the world around them, and not the business criminals buying domains in the name of reselling at very high cost. To whom it may concern, I am writing this to show my support against the price increases in the .COM domain names. The actions that are being taken by ICANN will harm the public involvement to buy domains and grow an idea. This action will also harm the diversity and discourage marginal groups to go through with the their vision of the future. This will also create an unfair monopoly among domain registrars, thus harming the competition resulting in unfair consumer practices. As an indie software developer and novelist, I find the notion of exploiting domain name registration for profit extortionate rent-taking. Domain names are are like toll-roads—website owners have little choice but to travel the road if they wish readers, viewers, and users to find their sites on the web. Allowing monopolistic control over domain extensions serves no useful purpose other than to line greedy pockets. Yes, there is a cost to provide the service. And yes, that cost should be covered by registration fees. But the fees should not be allowed to escalate year after year when digital storage, cpu cycles, and network bandwidth are in general decreasing year after year. My organization, clients, and I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains through the proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Verisign currently makes a profit in excess of the operating needs of the .COM registry. Raising the rates now is passing undue costs on to the registrants. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest, not work to line their own pockets.
