Dear ICANN, I am extremely disappointed in the prioritization of revenue over the accessibility of getting a presence on the web. COM domains are one of the most popular and well-regarded TLDs. Millions of people and organizations, small and large, depend on them to conduct their day to day business. I find it grossly disgusting for you to be taking advantage of your stewardship of this resource simply because a large corporation offered you money. I hope that you will take your responsibilities seriously and not trade the accessibilty of the web for a few million dollars.

Hello, I'm unsettled by the recent deal ICANN has made with Verisign. As someone who owns a domain name and potentially future ones, I'm concerned that this deal only benefits you and not your customers. By being able to increase prices 70% over the next ten years, you are going to make it more and more difficult for small business owners to afford good domain names. Please don't implement a change like this that will be a detriment to small business owners. Thanks, Jeff

I understand that ICANN has announced significant changes to its contract with Verisign, Inc., and that these changes were made privately, without consulting or incorporating feedback from the community or Internet users. As the director of a nonprofit organization supporting families diagnosed with cancer, I STRONGLY OBJECT to the indicated price increases that will harm my organization, and those dependent on using the Internet as a whole. With .com domains making up 40% of all registered domain names online, this decision will affect most of us. While our primary domain is a .org, we have other programs registered under .com addresses--everyone knows that the advantage of using .com is a greater reach and public use. My understanding is that the agreement with Verisign will allow for increase in domain fees every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, and allow wholesale domain prices to grow by more than 70% over the next 10 years. This will absolutely price typical users like me completely out of the market for .com domains. It seems clear that ICANN is benefiting from these changes, yet there doesn't seem to be clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will oversee that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure. I object to this decision, and feel it will create an unfair burden to many nonprofits, small business users, and community organizations that depend on the internet for outreach, fundraising, and more. There are already too many fees associated with buying a .COM and having a website. Removing price controls for the majority of website domains means many small businesses will suffer, in an age where having a digital presence is of increasing importance. How is this benefiting ANYONE except ICANN? How will ICANN even spend the money? Keep price controls for .COM! Sarah Rowlands

I strongly oppose the recent changes made to the ICANN contract with Verisign. It is terrible for ICANN to make these changes in secret, without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users. I cannot support changes that will make .COM wholesale domain prices grow by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade. I also oppose the other price increases the contract allows for. These changes will ultimately make .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everyone. It is very shady for Verisign to agree to pay an additional $20 million dollars over five years to support ICANN's domain name system initiatives, without any clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure. I think this is a bad decision for the future of the internet. Domains should not be prohibitively expensive for start-ups and small business to buy, and I'm afraid that's exactly what will happen with the proposed changes. Thanks, Ian Muldoon

This is ludicrous and I ask you impose more restrictions on than what's currently listed for domain pricing increases. As a small business, we can't afford the domain name increases proposed and would use a different tld if required
