I do not support raising the current wholesale price for .com registry. I think that the growth of the internet is a positive thing and this would provide a hindrance in the internet organic growth.

Just wanted to voice my concern for the increased pricing for .Com domains. PLEASE DO NOT INCREASE THESE FEES AS THE END-CONSUMER WILL BE THE ONE THAT ACTUALLY PAYS IT!

Hello ICANN, Since .COM represents more than 40% of all websites registered today, it should be illegal for a private corporation to "regulate" and make price increases of the .COM domain. There is no legitimate reason to increase the price of the .COM because this will lead to the closing of many creative websites that survive with minimum money on free hosting servers ! What's happening? Last month, ICANN, the organization that oversees domain names, announced significant changes to the contract it has with Verisign, Inc. who operate the .COM top-level-domain (TLD). ICANN made these changes *in secret*, *without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users.* Although ICANN has a history of making similar deals behind closed doors, and also of *ignoring unified opposition against such action*, we are focused on leading the fight against price increases that will harm the Internet as a whole. This is a crucial time to raise our voices given that *.COM domains make up 40% of all registered domain names online*. What does this change mean? Wholesale registries charge registrars a set fee per domain name per year. According to this new agreement, Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, and the increases don’t stop there. This will mean that* .COM wholesale domain prices can grow by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade*. The contract also allows for other price increases, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody. Why is ICANN doing this? Alongside these contract changes, *Verisign agreed to pay ICANN an additional $20 million dollars over five years to support* ICANN's domain name system initiatives, *without any clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure. * These changes will have significant impact on the Internet for years to come, and only ICANN and Verisign have participated in this decision. *So, dear ICANN, you should block the price increase of the .COM domain, stop making secret deals with corporations and confess that you do not care about the internet, only about profit ! * *Shame !* *You are responsible for this and must be held accountable for your actions and secret dealings in front of the law !* *Stop the .COM price increase !*

I am the owner of a number of domains and I'm afraid if we were to sustain an unreasonable and unnecessary price increase to this infrastructure it would affect by ability to host my websites and do business. I have very small streams of income from some of my domains and coupled with hosting costs it amounts to a substantial amount. We are in an era where technology is increasing rapidly and becoming more available. Why take a step backwards? Please reconsider this initiative at this time.

Allowing unchecked price hikes to wholesale registrars will decrease competitive pricing and and likely facilitate creating a monopoly with verisign at the reigns. There has to be a better way that hamstringing wholesalers.

Dear Sir or Madam, stop Amendment 3 and artificially increasing prices of .COM-domains without sufficient reasons. Any individual walking this planet should have access to such domains within reasonable charge. For some people it’s too expensive, keeping them out and discouraging them of ways to change their situation within the internet economy. It really gives ICANN a greedy reputation and makes them look even more evil than before. This doesn’t has to be. Thanks for your understanding. - Lucas Peters

I am against the Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement, and also disapprove of ICANN's lack of transparency in scheming that and similar initiatives. Furthermore, I urge all members of the ICANN Board of Directors to resign. Marat Nepomnyashy
