I strongly oppose the obvious rent-seeking price hike for .com domains by Verisign. The current price for a .com domain is already outrageously high. Just because Verisign owns many of the ICANN board members (which should be investigated separately) does not give them the right to dictate price increases. Kevin Warden

Hi there, I've just heard about your decision of increasing the pricing of .COM domains. I believe the internet should be open as accessible as possible, and I don't understand the need to make more profit out of something as simple as domain registration. Your decision won't benefit anyone else apart from you and Verisign. Best, Vernau

Hello, I am a registrant of a .com domain name (many .coms in fact.) I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. That means maintaining the domains at an affordable and widely accessible rate. What is the purpose of having ICANN AT LARGE when public interests are not considered in the decision making? The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Sincerely, M Lucio

We are opposed to the proposed changes. We are a small business and rely heavily on domain names for our business. These proposed changes would leave room for prices to increase quite dramatically and it would make it difficult fit small businesses like us to survive Ali and Sakina Poonawala

I wish to kick against last month's ICANN significant changes to the contract it has with Verisign, Inc. who operate the .COM top-level-domain (TLD). These changes were subjective and did not consider common interests of .COM websites. It will harm us, stifle our business and constrain our online presence. I am not subscribing to lopsided business wiles. Why should ICANN make .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody? It's far from imagination.

There is good NO reason to allow .com domain name registration price increases. This will hurt small business owners, like myself, more than anyone, and I don't need more unnecessary price increases.

As an Internet user and .COM domain holder, please be advised that I am extremely concerned about proposed ICANN changes to your contract with Verisign and how you can spend the .COM fees. These funds should specifically be allocated to domain infrastructure - Make it better, not more expensive. We do need to limit and better yet prevent these fee increases. The Internet is for the public "domain" providing a platform that prevent .COMs from becoming less available and more expensive for everybody.
