Hello, I have been helping businesses and individuals since the beginning of the modern day .com based internet. And I and my clients and friends do not appreciate the proposed changes Verisign and ICANN have agreed to. The purpose of ICANN is to operate in the interests of the PUBLIC, not in the interests of the corporate. And this arrangement will ONLY benefit the corporate entity, Verisign and also ICANN, to the direct detriment of the public to which ICANN is supposed to be operating on behalf of. This is similar to the controversy of the .music or .author or .book or .writer TLDs potentially going to another major corporation such as Amazon, instead of protecting the artist community the TLDs are meant for. This is similar to the misguided AB5 bill that was passed into law in California, where it hurts the vast majority of the people it is pretending to protect. Please reconsider this proposal, and turn it down. In the interests of the public to which ICANN says they represent. Hello, I'm writing to express my opposition to the proposed costs increases to .COM domains in this amendment. This change will stifle innovation on the web and cause the biggest harm to small business owners and individuals trying to run personal websites. A .COM domain is a sign of professionalism and official capacity, and by increasing the costs of these domains, you will force many to abandon .COM, making the web more difficult to navigate for your average user and again, harming small businesses, startups and individuals the most. I oppose the increase of fees for .com domains. This is clearly being done by ICANN solely to obtain additional revenue. It is very distressing that this course of action is being taken with so little review, consultation, and opportunity for stakeholder comment. I oppose the fee increase. Sent from my iPad
