Hello, I am writing to voice my opposition to Proposed Amendment 3. Despite there clearly being potential financial gains to be had by raising the registration fee on .com domains, the global DNS registration system should be run primarily as a public concern. The only entities that stand to benefit from the proposed arrangement are verisign itself, at the expense of the public. While price hikes such as this likely won't mean much to the larger business concerns that buy in bulk, it will impact the millions of small, independent businesses and developers that rely on the system as is to make their livelihood. At worst, this could prove yet another point of pressure that convinces a small business to make their online presence exclusively in the Facebook walled garden and eschew the web itself. The web, and global DNS, were envisioned to be run for the public good, and they SHOULD be run for the public good. Deals such as this are an abdication of that mandate; short sighted profit chasing at the expense of all else. Please do not adopt this proposal. Best, Leo

Unfortunately, consumers are at the mercy of ICANN and Verisign. Please don't spread ill will by raising the price like this. It is far out of line with inflation and will highlight monopolistic power structures behind .com registration process. I am a domainer (I invest in domain names as a business). I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. This is totally ridiculous. Do your jobs and reject this proposal. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. That’s what this amendment will effectively do. We’re on track for Verisign to just own outright the most important TLD. Stop letting this happen, don’t let Verisign increase prices indefinitely (your freezes won’t stop them, they have the money to wait them out), and don’t let them be a registrar. We know what their plans are already.

Hi, I am a customer with a .com domain and I am concerned with this decision to this contract. My concerns are: 1. There will be price increases yearly that will be passed on to me as a consumer for .com domains 2. ICANN is getting bribed by Verisign by accepting $20million 3. Verisign acting as a domain name registrar will be anti-competitive market and introduce monopoly on .com domain name pricing 4. ICANN ignored previous public comments. Thanks, Ken

To whom it may concern - I am holding multiple .COM domain for personal use and I am in objection on the Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement for the following reason(s): - The price increase of management fee is multiple times of the U.S. inflation rate[1] where VerSign is registered and operating, which cannot be justified; - There is no extra service to ICANN and the .COM user community provided by VerSign in the new Agreement that is currently unserved which means that the price increase in not beneficial to any party involved except for VerSign, which is unfair; Thanks, David Zhuang [1] https://www.bls.gov/cpi/ <https://www.bls.gov/cpi/>
