Dear GNSO Councilors, I am forwarding herewith the Final Report of the Expedited Policy Development Process on Specific Curative Rights Protections for International Governmental Organizations (IGOs) and a Motion for approval of the five (5) final EPDP recommendations as documented in the EPDP team's Final Report. Please note that it is my understand that the Council will not vote on this motion this month, but this topic will be on the agenda to explain the report's final recommendations. Hi All, The RrSG would like to propose the attached friendly amendment adding clarifying detail to the motion. We believe it is important to have it on record (in the motion) that there are scope and principles stipulated by the Council at the outset and against which Council has evaluated and determined that the recommendations in the Final Report are consistent with such scope and principles. Next steps are as follows: John McElwaine and Juan Manuel Rojas, as submitter and seconder of the motion, will consider it and come back to Council either : * accepting the amendment as friendly, at which point the Council during the May monthly meeting will vote on the amended motion text * not accepting the amendment as friendly, at which point the Council will first vote on the proposed amendment. There will then be a second vote either on the motion text as originally submitted, or as amended, pending the outcome of the first vote.
