TMCH Test-SMDs expired...

Hello everyone, the test SMD-Files provided by the TMCH have expired yesterday (see below). Our unit testing infrastructure obviously fails on these tests currently, because it requires/assumes the SMD files to be valid. Are there updated test files available yet? Call for Presentations 4th vTechDay at ICANN 71 (The Hague) The ICANN Tech Working Group is again planning a technical workshop at the ICANN 71 meeting (The Hague) on Monday 2021-06-14. As the meeting will be virtual vTechDay will be conducted as Zoom Webinar/Meeting from 12:00 to 17:30 UTC. We shall try to accommodate the time zone of the presenters in setting the agenda. The TechDay workshop has been a part of ICANN meetings since 2006 and has provided a forum for both experienced and new people to meet, present and discuss technical topics related to registry and DNS work and security. We are specially interested in: 1. DNSSEC, in particular within the EUR Region and with regards to SHA-1 Transition 2. DNS Abuse Prevention and Mitigation Tools 3. Best security management practices, lines of defense, to protect the registry from bad actors, attacks or malware 4. Svelte CZDS zone files?

It occurs to me that most CZDS users are interested primarily in the collection of "ordinary" records present in the gTLD zone files, and have no intention to e.g. operate secondary servers based on the complete zone data. In particular, the RRSIG and NSEC/NSEC3 records which can take up a significant (perhaps dominant) fraction of the zone file size, may be of little interest to most users. I'd like to propose that ICANN make available a version of each gTLDs zone file that elides the *derived* RRSIG, NSEC and NSEC3 records. Doing this can save significant tranmission costs on the ICANN size, and storage/processing costs on the CZDS user side. If some users want the zone files, RRSIGs and all, those can continue to be available. [ Please DO NOT elide "DS" records, these are not "derived" data, signal which delations are signed, and typically do not take up nearly as much space as RRSIGs. ] -- Viktor.

I had the same response a few days ago. My request was submitted Sep 1 and it was denied the next day with "This gTLD is only for internal use. Thanks" This has been happening for almost a decade with various TLDs. I don't think ICANN Org cares that much unless you submit a report with Compliance. Did anyone get approval for the .MTR zonefile recently? Our requests for renweal are (repeatedly) denied with: -- Reason: Requester did not provide correct or legitimate credentials (explain why) Explanation: This gTLD is only for internal use.
