Secretariat, division of labor

All, We are quite far into the transition of the secretariat functions from ICANN to ISOC-SG. This message is to remind people what the implications will be, and what the division of labor will be. ICANN will still: - Coordinate translation and interpretation availability and provide such services - Provide live transcription (at face 2 face meetings) - Coordinate ICG member travel and expenses - Provide audio and video at meetings (both f2f and teleconferences), chat support etc It will be Alice that continues to be our main contact (unless she refers to someone else), although her time allocation for ICG will decrease significantly. ISOC-SG will take over everything else which, just to remind people, the domain name for the web site and mailing lists we use will change to ianacg.org. When the operations do change, we will inform you about the details. Patrik

Open ICG session in Singapore

All, The session is scheduled for Monday, 9 February - 10:15-13:00. I suggest it be divided as follows: 10:15-10:20 Patrik Fältström - moderator for the whole session Introduction to the structure of the session 10:20-11:00 Operational Community 1 11:00-11:40 Operational Community 2 11:40-12:20 Operational Community 3 12:20-13:00 Representatives from ICG + Operational Communities on stage, open microphone ICG will for this slot have three people on stage. The rest of ICG will be on the floor and have "priority" at microphones if they want to speak. I will as moderator for the session announce this, and ask ICG members "to stand up" to show who are ICG members. Microphones will be two queues (again) but the two queues should be beside each other. One for "new items" and one for "same item". I am thinking of a third microphone just for ICG members -- if you think that would be preferred. I will be moderating, so I need three people from ICG to be on stage for the third portion. Alternatively, we have no ICG members on the stage, but a separate microphone for ICG. Feedback please! Patrik

Minor addition to the proposal assessment form

Section B3 of the assessment form refers to the 4 NTIA "principles" as the NTIA criteria. These are: * Support and enhance the multistakeholder model; * Maintain the security, stability, and resiliency of the Internet DNS; * Meet the needs and expectation of the global customers and partners of the IANA services; and, * Maintain the openness of the Internet. In addition, however, the NTIA stated that: "NTIA will not accept a proposal that replaces the NTIA role with a government-led or an inter-governmental organization solution."
