Even for alternates the time commitment will be significant, as the alternates will need to follow the ongoing arguments closely enough to jump into an active role at short notice. - this WG will need to work extremely fast, and so participants should already have a strong understanding of the GDPR, WHOIS/RDS discussions, privacy in general etc. This group will have to hit the ground running on substantive policy discussion extremely quickly - participants should already have experience in GNSO working groups and policy processes. NPOC is growing - ICANN62 Activities

In addition to the Executive Committee members, the constituency had representatives from the Onboarding Program, 3 people, One Regional Fellow and other representative from our members team. Some of our attendees already had experience and other ones were new in ICANN meetings.Meetings & Activities - Capacity Building Presentation: Joint NCSG/ALAC Credit: Glenn Mcknight - Members’ SessionNPOC’s member session encourage all attendees to participate, with many of them asking about how they can get involved in the Policy Committee and help NPOC to contribute to to policy making. There were 8 people who signed up. The ExCom, in its due diligence, formally sent a call for volunteers on the NPOC Discuss list. This is a historic moment in NPOC’s journey, where a Policy Committee will be formed with experts on the Internet Governance and operational issues that will educate and engage members in the policy development process. - OnBoardingThe OnBoarding Program, started a couple of years ago with Martin Silva as Mentor for Agustina Callegri. The results of the Program provided NPOC with toolkit consisting of A Beginner’s Guide to NPOC, A welcome Letter and a Marketing Flyer. For the ICANN62 Policy forum, Ioana Stupariu and Destiny Tchéhouali attended ad mentees of Onboarding Program, with Tapani Tarvainen as their Mentor. For FY19, US$50,000 was allocated to the final FY19 Budget for CROP. The Board made this decision on the recommendation of ICANN organization, based on community consultations and public comments on the Draft FY19 Operating Plan & Budget as well as further consideration about how to provide support to community outreach efforts while remaining within appropriate budget limits. As part of this process, staff was directed to review current guidelines and develop improved, additional criteria. To ensure consistency with other community travel and outreach requests administered under all ICANN programs, the final criteria balances the program goals with the need to ensure cost-effectiveness. The general principle governing the updated CROP guidelines<https://community.icann.org/x/yicFBQ> is that CROP may be used for FY19 outreach efforts that are directly and demonstrably related to ongoing ICANN policy, technical and advisory activities. CROP allocations will be subject to the new CROP guidelines<https://community.icann.org/x/yicFBQ> and specific criteria, with a staff assessment to be conducted at the end of FY19. Each RALO & each eligible GNSO Constituency (BC, IPC, ISPCP, NCUC & NPOC) is allocated up to three (3) individual regional trips (4 days and 3 nights maximum per trip). Travel allocations are to be used for the following types of events: * ICANN Public Meetings occurring in the relevant region; or * Official meetings organized by ICANN Org occurring in the relevant region; or * If there is no Public Meeting or official ICANN meeting occurring in the relevant region in that FY, a meeting in that region that is assessed by the relevant regional GSE VP as being: I. Directly and demonstrably related to ongoing ICANN policy, advisory or technical activities (e.g. a Regional Internet Registry meeting), and II. Consistent with ICANN Org’s outreach plan for that region. (For RALOs, “relevant region” means the region applicable to each RALO.
