Hi, Eberhard mentioned that there might be a round table about UA and IDN topics at the tech day. Are you still looking for participants for that event? If so, do you already know a bit more details about the topics to be discussed? Depending on the actual topics, I might be able to contribute to the discussions. My background knowledge/experience around UA/IDN: * I was a member of the Latin GP creating the Latin part of the RZ-LGR. * I contributed to UA Roadmap for Domain Registry and Registry Systems. * I was a participant of the ccPDP4. * I was a member of the IDN EPDP. * I am currently chairing the LD PDP. vTechDay at ICANN 85 (Mumbai) The ICANN Tech Working Group is again planning a technical workshop at the ICANN 85 meeting (Monbay) As the meeting will be hybrid so will be vTechDay which is currently penciled in for Monday, 2025-10-27 for blocks: Block 2 10:30 - 12:00 (90 Min) Block 3 13:15 - 14:30 (75 min) Block 4 15:00 - 16:00 (60 min) Block 5 16:30 - 17:30 (60 min) All times are local (Mumbai) time. We shall try to accommodate the time zone of virtual presenters in setting the agenda. The TechDay workshop has been a part of ICANN meetings since 2006 and has provided a forum for both experienced and new people to meet, present and discuss technical topics related to registry and DNS work and security. We are specially interested in: 1. UA/IDN In this respect we are anticipating a round table organized by the ccNSO-UA Committee. Please engage with them via email at ccnso-uacommittee(a)icann.org, keeping us in copy at ccNSO-techday(a)icann.org. 2. DNS Abuse Prevention and Mitigation Tools 3. Best (security) management practices, lines of defense, to protect Registries from bad actors, attacks or malware, or even reports of failures 4. It will be open for comments. Bart: what are the 10 work items? There might be a link with the joint session. This might be a platform for involving the technical audience. Sami: they want us to collect UAC perspective. Ok if i make a summary by monday/tuesday? That might be an update from UAC to the Expert group, and other way around First 5 items are technical ones. (e.g. system admin platforms) the other ones are more engagement and capacity building related. Engagement with Tech Day and Tech WG will be useful. Bart: regarding presenters, please start thinking about it. One or 3 presentations, followed by a discussion. Where do we take all those new developments Sami: yes, discussing with others as well. Bart: we have a more detailed discussion under number 3 Abdalmomen: the 10th one is most important i think. It is related to the work done by the community. GAC, ALAC, ccNSO …. In Dublin it was about tools on abuse. Eberhard hoped for more discussions. As Maria already mentioned, keep the audience in mind. This is about technical and operational developments. New perspectives, what needs to happen? Link with Expert Group. From the discussions with Eberhard, he would like to invite the local host. NIXI might be an interesting part of the speakers panel. If we decide NIXI - because they are the host - is the headliner of our session, we should ask them what they will speak about. We can pick up on this, and proceed along the same level of details.
