I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. I'm not saying it out of an obvious desire to merely save money but internet, as we know it is free medium and the price increase means fewer .com registrations per year and this especially impacts people in developing countries where the currency value is really low and the need for information technology and a "free medium" for spread of information is high (free from government interference). The price increase is surely likely to impact and "disempower" certain groups and should be carefully considered unless absolutely necessary. Thanks

This proposed amendment is not acceptable to anyone who purchases domains and sould not go ahead. This will effect millions of people and will have a detrimental effect on he perceptions of ICANN globally. Thanks paudie

Increases in costs for maintaining domains has not happened significantly enough to warrant the proposed changes to increase the prices over time as proposed. There is not enough evidence that these costs are anywhere near necessary and if occurring a petition to congress to look into the reasons for a increase like this that will effect millions of businesses and individuals would be the next step.

Hi icann staff A related statement issued by icann indicates that Verisign has a few permanent partnerships with ICANN, which indicates that the .com domain name will be permanently registered and managed by Verisign, so Verisign will want to take a price increase to obtain More benefits. Verisign also increases the price of the com domain name by 7% every year, which is extremely unreasonable. As a com domain user, I do not want this amendment to pass. This is unfair and unfair to any person or company. Thank you
