Hello, I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Your organization has given 0 reasonable evidence that such an increase is necessary. The current rate of $7.85 is already more than justified. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. What purpose does this proposed increase serve, save to line the pockets of Verisign? The costs in running the .com registry have not increased. This is blatent rent-seeking, and the proposed amendment should be denied.

Raising the prices for .COM registration from current levels will force my blog (boredsysadmin.com) and many others from the internet as a significant price increase will make keeping the domain no longer financially viable due to the significant decrease in advertising revenue I implore you to keep .com registration price at the same level as it stands currently. -- Best Regards, Sergey Klevsky

America was originally built on the idea that the lower class should have the opportunity to work hard and better their lives. By jacking up the prices of .com domains, you are chipping away yet again at that dream. People like me need the ability to buy domains at affordable rates so we can run experiments in the open market, to reach consumers, and hopefully generate new and innovative businesses. Without the ability to buy affordable domain names, it becomes nearly impossible for me to reach my customers. Stop what you are doing and reverse course, unless you hate opportunity and you only care about your own profit. This change will severely impact equal access to domain registration and highly favor larger entities with the ability to pay more for a domain. Another measure to restrict the internet and create fast lanes for those who have more. Sent from the very core of who I am as a person.
