I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the *public interest.* This is a formal e-mail requesting that you take a serious look into Verisign with the price increase. They are turning million of dollars with .com already and they are trying to charge more from the public. This is not their only business but this may be there largest. Manuel -- Manuel Cátedra

I use an avid Internet user and I am a .com registrant. To begin, I am against Verisign managing .com URL address sales. Verisign is merely the manager of the .COM Registry and has no business dictating the price. ICANN, as a non-profit acting in the interest of the greatest public good, should be governing the domain name system in the public interest. Letting private for-profit business dictate prices is the absolute antithesis of this. I hope you make the best decision for the good of the internet and the people, not the multinational corporations looking to bleed America dry. Thank you.

The effort of being a registrar has hardly increased over the years, quite the opposite. Domain names are a commodity that should grow cheaper every year. Raising the fees as proposed is simply greed, there is nothing to motivate it. Best regards, Lars Snith

Me and people like me will stop using .com addresses and switch to a cheaper alternative. There are plenty of other options. Its 2020, addresses that don't end in .com aren't considered shady anymore so there's no reason to stay with .com if the price is so high. Thats all!

This endangers the free & open net. How can people expect to have personal websites, or websites for their projects, with higher prices?? I am sure that a properly governed nonprofit foundation would have no trouble raising the funds needed to ensure proper infrastructure. Please consider your public perception as you weigh your options.
