I am opposed to increasing the .com price. The internet is supposed to be a level playing field. You are favoring big business by increasing rates for .com domains. Greetings – As a small business owner, I depend upon my website for my survival. Every expenditure is important and planned for. The monopolistic aspects of this proposal really disturb me. Yes, the proposed 8 out of 10 year increase (which is surely going to be implemented) provides a lot of uncertainty for me, but the fact that the administrator of domain names can also sell and control domains is very troubling in the very possible (some might say probable) unfair business advantages that can be exploited by a less-than-scrupulous operator. The potential to charge more to your competitors than you do to yourself is a very unfair business advantage, especially when the end user is required to maintain this feature. Please count my opinion as opposing this proposal. Thank you. It should be a requirement for ICANN to function with transparency and not make deals behind closed doors. It is also very important for .com domain pricing to not significantly increase otherwise the accessibility of .com domains for companies and individuals without large budgets would be severely impacted and that is a bad thing! I disagree with the proposed amendment. Tyler

First .org, and now raising the .com prices? I've long considered ICANN to be the weakest part an internet that should function because it is decentralized. One entity controlling naming is a glaring flaw in that philosophy. We've tolerated you because you seem to act in good faith. If you keep this up we will create alternative name systems and then you can fuck off. -Chris

I´m dissatisfied with the .COM proposal, because that means of that the that .COM wholesale domain prices can grow by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade. The contract allows for other price increases, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accesible and more expensive for everybody. I am associated with the secondary market in domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified.
