Hello, I just caught wind of the proposed amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement through my registrar blog (https://www.namecheap.com/blog/icann-allows-com-price-increases-gets-more-m…) and I want to communicate that I am 100% against this. I understand the need for ICANN funding, but proposing a $20 million fee to Verisign (that will be passed on to small businesses) - without even clear illustration of what initiatives will be pursued, how the money will be spent, or who will ensure proper spending - is at best, irresponsible, and at worst, corrupt. I am fully against the proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement. I am copying my MLA on this email to make her aware of this as well, and how it is harmful to small businesses. I am a domainer (I invest in domain names as a business) & I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. The proposed price rise to .com domains will adversely affect the global internet market & stakeholders will be the sufferers, which in turn will definitely affect the end users of .com names. Setting this as precedent is a very wrong step & this idea must be immediately dropped if we want to see global online market prospering in future. Verisign is merely manager of the .COM Registry & it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Amendment 3 is absurd. This will effectively limit access to .com domains for low income individuals and small businesses making a socioeconomic barrier to the most reputable TLD of all time. ICANN will be the recipient of a huge kickback from Verisign and amendment 3 does nothing to illustrate how these funds will be spent to benefit the global community. This will be seen as a shady deal performed in secret to the detriment of many and the benefit of very few. It's a shame that ICANN finds this publicity inconsequential and disregards what's best for the global community. If amendment 3 passes, I will do everything I can to educate all my customers about the reputation of .COM TLD's; that they have been twisted into a cash grab scheme and are no longer the go-to TLD for businesses. Please take this public comment period seriously as it will have long lasting consequences for everyone. Thank you, Dalton Witt.

This is unacceptable.. With the increment in fees to get a .com domain, those living in developing and third world countries are being left behind. Do you even put into consideration people who are less privileged when such decisions are made? Revised your decision, thanks. Maboni.
