To Whom It May Concern, It is unfair and inconsiderate of you to increase the cost of .com I am a struggling small business owner. Last year, I actually lost money on my business. As costs increase on various things it makes it more and more difficult for me to survive. PLEASE DO NOT increase prices! I imagine you are already making millions in profit each year while many of us struggle. Hello, I am deeply disappointed by backroom deals such as this. Raising prices like this with no indication as to why only serves those at the top with the power. The internet should be as open and accessible as possible so that everyone may prosper. Keeping domain names at a low price so that anyone may get their website found is a crucial step in this goal. Decisions like this hurt small business and individuals from participating.

This proposal reduces the accessibility of domains for people all over the world. It provides Verisign with a disproportionate benefit, while providing ICANN little support in return. Part of a healthy internet is keeping domains affordable for the every day person. I whole heartily appose this amendment. Passing this amendment will undermine public view of ICANN. In addition, I believe the amount of money ICANN is already receiving might be causing an issue. Sirs: It has come to my attention that you plan to increase prices for .com domain registration by 7% per annum over the next several years. This despite the low inflation rate that is being experienced in most countries. I see this as a blatant exploitation of your virtual monopolistic position to raise profits at the expense of mostly small domain registrants like myself. I rely on my website to disseminate information about my small business and to facilitate sales. Increasing the price of domain registration beyond the rates that are rational in accounting for inflation introduces hardships on small businesses like mine, because our customers will abandon us if we attempt to pass these unjustifiable increases on to them.
