Maybe you guys should be wondering what kind of liability you are accepting for the damages you can potentially cause to businesses like mine? My business depends on domain names I have owned for 25 years. What will my options be to shop for a better rate if your fees go up? Or will I be forced to make a simple choice between accepting the increased cost or losing my business? Isn't that the definition of a monopoly? Maybe it's time this infrastructure be moved into the public domain like utilities where due process and transparency are at least required. I strongly believe that it would be a shame to loose clients over an unnecessary rise of the .com domains. I say unnecessary because the level of .com domains clients with the current prices is always rising because of now a day technology demands but I might be wrong since I don’t have the numbers.

To whom it may concern, I'm writing to voice my opposition to Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement. As a consumer and developer of web-based services, I believe the DNS system should be treated as a utility that operates as close to cost as possible. An increase that exceeds the yearly inflation rate is unreasonable. An increase that benefits a single registrar that already has healthy operating margins is unjustified. Please, do not enact Amendment 3 of the .COM Registry Agreement. Thanks for your consideration, -Charlie

Hello I am sending this Email as a *protest *against your "secret" ANTI DEMOCRATIC decision to change dot com prices. The internet is a PUBLIC network and NOT a private one, and changing dos com prices without *any notification* to dot com owners is a an ANTI PUBLIC ANTI DEMOCRATIC decision! This change/s will affect ALL dot com owners and may lead to a MASS dot com domains release to market by owners causing a "black market" for dot com traders and might cause mass websites close downs by the "not rich" owners and sort of giving the internet to rich people only, bringing the internet to a none fair none equal to all position. *Therefore this act should NOT be done!* Unless it will be stopped by YOU! If you will perform this ANTI PUBLIC act, I really hope: 1. It will be stopped by congress, or any other authority, 2. All dot com owners will move to a NOT ICANN domains 3. leaving you with nothing in hand. E.C Some dot coms owner.

Dear ICAAN, Not every one who has a Dot Com domain name is a wealthy business or even a profit-making enterprise. Some of us are just hard-working, nerdy types doing what we love to do online because that's what makes the rest of life live-able. Please don't take that away from us by making the price of Dot Com domain names prohibitive and out of reach. i strongly oppose the secret, back door deal that icann and verisign are about to embark on. this is a very bad idea for the business community. there is no transparency in this deal. and past comment were ignored, even though the large majority of the comments received were opposed to such a deal. tis is unfair and undemocratic and should not be done. thank you wendy steiger

I strongly oppose the proposed changes to ICANN's contract with Verisign. ICANN is supposed to be a protector of the public trust and fairly administer the domain name system. The changes to the contract would hand Verisign a virtual monopoly on .com domains. I, for one, will stop using my .com domains if this amendment goes through, and I will encourage others to switch to other high-level domans. Seth Wilpan Certainty is the father of violence.

Even when we searched the web for an explanation to it, we couldnt find any. I would like to voice my concern over this, and think this could lead to unfair advantages for companies with deeper pockets than small startups and individuals.
