Hello there, This is a comment regarding small business and the proposed amendment. With .com now being the standard and have strong demand, I totally get your motivation in increasing the prices: fewer .com domain available, good notoriety and more people interested. However, please do not forget small company who own .com domain. We are a small business and back in 2007, we chose a .com domain (instead of .ca). We could have chosen a .ca (but it's two late now), but we didn't. It is now sad to see that ICANN want's to take a decision that will harm a lot of small business that have a limited budget for their online presence, even if it is those small businesses who contribute to make .com domain popular. I hope ICANN will not abuse its power at the expense of the small companies that have contributed to its success. Thank you, Marie-Anne Nonyme

Hello, Goodnight. I do not agree with the Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM and I do not agree with this unilateral decision about Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, and the increases don’t stop there. They must take customers into account, the internet belongs to everyone. The way they are handling the situation is also advantageous. We demand that the proposal not proceed as it can harm us economically, now and in the future. This proposal must be analyzed and agreed with the entire internet community. Giving VeriSign a monopoly on the .COM domain registration and relaxing the price freeze is a slap in the face of every user of the Internet. IT WAS NOT SO LONG AGO THAT THE REGISTRATION PRICE WENT UP ON .COM REGISTRATIONS. I am a registrant of a .com domain name.The .com registry is not offering anything more than keeping a record of who has registered a .com besides ICAAN regulates that, so why do we have to pay more and more and more? Hello ICANN, This is my personal letter to your organization and im totally against increase of the .com domain names price! I think, there is millions of people, who will be totally agree with me and its wouldn’t make the good thing on a market. Instead of this, is better to keep the market on a same level as it is, because anyway is more and more people using the internet around the world and try to get nice names for the business. The biggest problem, that brokers need to release the domains, what they holding for sale for too many years, that people can book their dream domains with .com and with names they want, instead taking names .net /.org /.eu with their dream names. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry - it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.
