I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. Dear ICANN Rep, Based on everything I read to date re the proposed amendment, I am extremely disappointed by the nature of the proposed change and disapprove of the approach taken by ICANN. These changes will have significant negative impact on the Internet for years to come (less accessible and more expensive for everybody), yet only ICANN and Verisign have participated in this decision (no transparency re how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure). I urge ICANN to reconsider this decision and approach. Vincent

Being the owner of several .COM domains I believe the price increases being written into this contract are not good for the long term benefit of the .COM tld. 1. A TLD that currently has a healthy competition of registrars should not have the administrator of the TLD involved as a registrar. That seems ripe for conflicts of interest. 2. The price increases are well above inflation. The .COM TLD consists of millions of small businesses and individuals that would be harmed over the next decade by the high ceilings for raises written into the amendment. 3. I find it a little odd that Versign is giving ICANN $20M and then the very same non-profit agency then awards the donating company sweet contract that allows for such large price increases. I seriously recommend that ICANN reject the current proposal in amendment 3 and return with something that's more reasonable and doesn't come across as a giveaway to a TLD administrator. I am already operating on a slim margin. My domain names are an integral part of my art business. I am a struggling artist and these increases affect me and persons like me significantly! I presume this service is not-for-profit. But it is hard for my not technical self to verify this. Provide a migration option if these costs are indeed real. Enable my .COM domains to map to another .NNN domain that has a more reasonable cost. I was ignorant when I first established a domain else I would not have chosen a .COM domain. Please, please consider the small, small businesses in this cost increase.
