As a developer it's already hard to pay the extra 0.18usd on all domains name nobody is questioning what you people are using the money for, now because nobody is questioning you people, you just wake up and said that you want to increase .com domain name, without the knowledge of your customers, or even to understand how it will effect people's business, all in the name of making more money, This is wickedness, this in human, you people don't care about small business that can belly afford domain name, because you see that .com domain name is everywhere you will just force people to pay for something that is not what the price. I believe with the way you people are going about things it will be better when government will step in to create policy that will regulate your pricing, Since all you people do is to set around and just increase the already over high price of domain names, without thinking of the effect it has on customers If the creator of the internet, created it to make profits am not sure you people will have any business today, Yes think about that. The already over high price of domain name today makes it hard to convince people to buy one talkless of increasing the price of what is already over price. You are already making billions of dollars from all domains name, yearly, what do you still need to increase the price for if not for greedy, wickedness, witch of a people you are. You people are breaking what the internet was generally meant for, for all. Seriously if you people increase the already over high price, you will create an avenue for government of each nation's to create policy for it, and by then it will be bad for you, when you start paying taxes in different countries I believe that is what you people want, I have said my own, it's left for you to take it or leave it, but know this don't say I didn't say it.

Profit chasing by corporate giants leaves the masses feeling used, helpless and exploited. It is always reasonable for price increases that are justified and necessary but when the limit is removed and the price raise has no increased value of a service or product it becomes a hard pill to swallow. Also, with the alternatives to .com constantly growing with competitive price options for the consumer to turn to, aggressively raising the price will encourage the users to consider turning to cheaper and more accurate domain names. ".COM" has always been such a great symbol unifying WWW in a way that makes it easy for all to use and navigate. I am a domainer (I invest in domain names as a business). I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN’s principle responsibility is to ensure that the deliberations and decisions of ICANN are made for the benefit of the Internet community, as a whole. Policy changes, particularly those impacting pricing and access should be made in full sunshine and with solo station and consideration is majority public sentiment. To do otherwise destroys the overarching principles the internet was founded upon. Price increases diminish the equitable access and societal benefits the internet offers and should therefore be avoided at all costs. Note that this is not SPAM.

To whom it may concern, As a small business owner who has been setting up .com domains on behalf of my clients for over 2 decades, I am very concerned that this amendment, allowing Verisign to push significant price increases for .COM will end up driving customers to alternative TLDs, and create an elitism around the ownership of traditionally global .COM domain names. Stop making secret deals that are bad for consumers. It is plain to see your organization is getting kickbacks and not for ICANN or the Internet's betterment. Selling off the .org TLD was particularly bad. I hope you get caught and sanctioned if not jailed. Malkav

This is common technology trend to decrease infrastructure services. Let VeriSign to improve their infrastructure. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.
