This workshop will be a hybrid event. Date - 16-17 May 2026 Location - Edinburgh, Scotland Times - approximately 09:00-16:00 UTC (Local time BST is UTC +1 ) Adjacent to - RIPE 92 (18 - 22 May 2026, https://ripe92.ripe.net/) Deadline for Submissions - 2026-03-06 23:59 UTC https://indico.dns-oarc.net/event/56/abstracts/ All DNS-related subjects and discussion topics are welcome although we're particularly keen to hear more about operational and security related experiences, best practices and practical advice; both for newcomers to the DNS arena and those who have been around for longer who want to learn more about new features and opportunities to improve resilience, security and privacy. (These topics we think will complement the usual high-quality data-based research submissions we always hope to receive!) If you have something interesting to share with the community that lies outside of the focus above, please don't be put off - if it's good, we'll be happy to include it. If you'd like to offer a talk, but are not quite sure what to pick, here's a non-exhaustive list of ideas: 1. *Operations & Deployment* * Configuration management, deployment processes, and interoperability experiences. * Tools, tips, and making effective use of DNS software features. 2. *Performance, Resilience & Scaling* * Provisioning, load-balancing, and planning for resilience. * DNS performance management, efficiency improvements, and metrics. * Monitoring infrastructure: log pipelines, analytics, and anomaly detection. 3. *Security, Privacy & Policy* * DoS attacks, DNS abuse, DNSSEC signing and validation. * Privacy considerations, for example: encrypted transport, qname minimization, data anonymization. * Relevant global and regional policies, legislation, and compliance. 4. *Research & Innovation* * Data-driven testing, measurement, and analysis. * New protocols, protocol extensions, and next-generation namespace management. 5. *Lessons & Learnings* * Outage experiences, recovery stories, and cautionary tales For further details please see https://www.dns-oarc.net/oarc46 Willem Toorop, for the DNS-OARC Programme Committee

RSSAC Caucus Participation on upcoming GNSO PDP on DNS Abuse Mitigation

Hello RSSAC Caucus Members, The RSSAC has been offered representation on the upcoming Generic Names Supporting Organization Policy Development Process (GNSO PDP) on DNS Abuse Mitigation. Here is the charter<https://gnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/policy/2026/draft/charter-dns-ab…> for the PDP. After discussions on today’s RSSAC Teleconference, the RSSAC will send one Caucus Member as a participant to the PDP Work Group. This is not a voting position, as voting on this is out of scope for the RSSAC. This position will aim to follow developments and report back to the RSSAC at monthly teleconferences. From the charter: Participants may be from a GNSO SG/C or SO/AC as listed in the chart below. Participants will be able to actively participate in and attend all WG meetings. Participants are encouraged to engage in the WG deliberation throughout its lifecycle and are expected to keep up with all relevant WG deliberations to ensure they remain informed and can contribute when needed. However, Participants do not participate in the consensus designation process. Participants are encouraged to possess similar levels of expertise as Members. From my experience with GNSO PDPs, this will be a multiple hour per week meeting requirement. This is a time sensitive matter and of high importance to the GNSO and Consensus Policy Development Process. Please see Membership Criteria, Section A in the charter for additional requirements. There will be no travel support extended for this position. Updates on the RSSAC001v3 Work Party and Two Public Comments

Dear RSSAC Caucus, Three updates to share since the RSSAC met earlier this week for their monthly meeting. 1) The RSSAC has decided to pause work in the RSSAC001v3 Work Party to review its Statement of Work. There were concerns raised by some Caucus members during the work party meeting at ICANN 84 that the work may have drifted in scope or that the scope as stated in the SoW needed revising. The work party Chairs met with the RSSAC during the RSSAC's regular monthly meeting on December 2nd and it was decided that the work party would pause until the RSSAC had reviewed and possibly revised its Statement of Work. The RSSAC will begin discussing this shortly, but given the end of year and holidays I would not expect further news until mid-January at the earliest. Once the RSSAC has determined its disposition more information will be shared on this list. 2) The RSSAC recently submitted feedback to two ICANN Public Comment proceedings.
