Dear All As part of the procedure for request of translation services we need at least 3 confirmations for the translation requests for each language. That means we need -3 for French -3 for Spanish -3 for English https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/draft-policies-procedures-18may1.... We would be happy to receive these formal requests by end of the day or earlier. Kind regards Fiona Asonga --
Apologies, but I do not understand the request for English. Does that mean translating documents/transcripts from Spanish into English AND from French into English? Because these would have separate financial implications. The more precise the request is, the better the cost can be assessed. How quickly would translation be needed? Real-time is obviously much more expensive than with a solid delay. Interpretation (live oral) requires different resources again. Or did I misunderstand altogether? Thanks, Lousewies

Hallo LOusewies, Interesting feedback. We are requesting for translation during the call. I would ordinarily assume that if we get translation for French and Spanish it will work in reverse from French or Spanish to English as the meeting proceeds. The request for English is not intended to create confusion but provide clarity, so that it is lcear we want to use 3 languages during the call. However, it would be good for those putting forward their request to bear in mind Lousewies input and be as clear as possible on what translation they are requesting (real-time or delayed). Hi, to add to what Fiona explained, it is about interpretation during confcalls not the translation of materials. Best, Rafik 2017-03-14 22:06 GMT+09:00 Fiona Asonga <fasonga@kixp.or.ke>:

That is what I thought. Thank you so much for the clarification. It is important for the staff when the request comes. For non-native English speakers: translation: written (“The Russian novel was translated into 10 languages”) interpretation: spoken (“The interpreter found it hard to keep up with the speaker”) Merci, shukran, spasiba, gracias, Lousewies
