Hi, I am a registrant of many .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. If anything, technology costs are decreasing. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Regards, M. I am writing to express my concern regarding the Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement which could increase the price by up to 7% a year for the next 4 years. As the Director of an organization that owns many .COM domain names as part of our process of protecting our intellectual property, an increase of this magnitude can put a strain on the cost of our IP protection efforts. I can understand a slight increase of 1%-3% but 7% a year for the next 4 years appears to be a bit aggressive. I urge you to consider another option and/or less of an increase. To: ICANN, I, an owner of a .COM domain, am providing feedback to the "Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement" Public Comment period against the latest moves of ICANN and Verisign. I do not support the decision based on: 1. The lack of transparency in ICANN choosing Verisign. I support full transparency to the public in such matters. 2. The lack of public bidding for partnering with ICANN. I support market competition in finding partners. 3. The new Verisign monopoly powers that will allow it to control all domain prices. As an owner of 80% of registrar pricing this is too much power. I support weakening Verisign by not giving it more power than it already has. 4. The new Verisign powers to increase .COM domains by a 7% per year (2020-2023), a three year freeze on price increases, a 7% per year (2026-2029), and so on. I support zero price increases. 5. The lack of oversight for $20 million USD from Verising to ICANN. I support full public oversight over such matters. Thanks, E. Tamasdan

Dear ICANN - I have four concerns with the Verisign contract changes. 1) The decisions were made in private, behind closed doors, without incorporating any feedback from its customers or the Internet community as a whole. 2) The price increases are too high, too fast, and have no cap. 3) There's no accountability for the Verisign $20 million funding to support ICANN. The funds usage should be clearly spelled out. 4) Verisign should not be allowed to act as a registrar. Please ignore all the ignorant people that got sent here by either namecheap or other domain registrars. They don't understand what is happening in this amendment. If I have read this correctly, that 1. It would only allow a 7% increase for the last 4 years of a 6 year period (So shall not exceed $10.26 until Oct 2026). 2. That this amendment is needed because the Agreement from December 2012 in section 7.3 Subsection (d).i is not no longer effective and since it looks like section 7.3 Subsection (d).ii is still allowed that registrars can still do the increase based on this policy, so Amendment 3 would put a lock down on that, and stop the exorbitant increases due to security risks and DNS attacks. 3. That Verisign is still required to give 6 month notice to all price increases. Allowing registrars and customers to renew for up to 10 years @ the current price before the increase, locking in the wholesale price. So, I hope this comment make some sort of impact. The people just calling for you to stop this amendment and yell about price increase, are actually about to hurt themselves! Thanks, Aaron Smith
