The internet world is larger than anyone can think, and most people don't earn much from it and still trying to Meetup, increasing .com price will kill some online businesses and will reduce completion and give way to limited information sharing which will affect the world. So I strongly condemned the price increase and the price addressed for inclusive information dissemination.

I've always invested in .COM because it's the first in mind domain for most folks. By continually raising prices without a cost justification I think most folks like myself will view this as a simple cash grab. I think the fact these decisions are made arbitrarily behind closed doors also opens up ICANN and VeriSign to questions of honestly and transparency. I realize that the process is not meant to be democratic, or fair, but rather to be profitable. However this doesn't in anyway absolve you from decent conduct. Kurtis Staples-King

Hello, just reading about the increment that might take place. As a regular customer to the .com domain, I'd like to appeal that this price shouldn't go up. A lot of people have started and grown successful businesses online because they could get the funds to grow their business offline. They looked for a way out and the answer was purchasing .com domains for as little as they go for. This is something we are happy about and would love to continue. Thank you for your consideration.

Hi there, I was recently informed that iCANN has announced there will be significant changes with .coms involving a hike in costs. Not cool! Already small business owners have a lot of expenses and things only keep getting more costly while big corporate is able to absorb these costs like they're nothing. A 70% increase may not seem much to them but that's a LOT to your average small business just starting out. Keep the internet friendly to all and do NOT increase the costs! If the costs go up I will be switching my business's domain to a different type domain type and will be advising all other small business owners to do the same. Hello, I am very concerned about the ICANN decision to sell off yet another top-level domain (the biggest). My main concerns: 1) Likely steep price increases - Veri$ign is not doing this to help the public good 2) Verisign can now act as a domain name registrar, again a profit motive 3) The suspicious $20M ICANN is getting in return - "just because," right? 4) ICANN seemed to pretty much ignore all the comments supporting price controls doe the ,ORG, .INFO, and .BIZ TLDs I'd like to think ICANN would support the public interest, but it has not acted that way of late. Hi, I have been made aware of a new agreement with Verisign which will make it so that Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, and the increases don’t stop there. This would result in .COM wholesale domain prices to grow by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade. That contract also allows for other price increases, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody. I don’t agree with such agreement and asking: 1) for its reversal 2) for consultation or incorporating of feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users Thank you. Hi, I'm opposed to this proposed amendment. Seems like a closed door way to generate more money for yourselves when you have a monopoly on the service. You should be regulated like a utility and if you pull nonsense like this, that's exactly what's going to happen. Keep the internet open.
