Please respect the input of a major stakeholder - the customer - before making decisions that affect us. We must be included in the decision process, otherwise it may be in our best interest to establish our own infrastructures and networks in future which will be overseen by ourselves. Personally, I cannot afford the 70% increase over the next decade. This is unreasonable. I urge you to keep your greed in check and make realistic plans for the future. If you need additional funding, why not raise those funds by approaching the likes of George Soros, the Clinton Foundation and the Rothschilds? These super rich individuals and organizations have interests in a wide variety of areas. Hello, Please do not lift the price freeze for .COM Registry Services! A price increase on .com domains will make so many things harder for the public. This will greatly affect students, small businesses, startups, and innovation in general. Lifting the price freeze will only benefit large corporations like Verisign and will hurt everyone else. Hello, I would like to express my concern and objection to the proposed .COM domain price increases under the new contract signed with Verisign. Raising prices at an accelerated pace will harm the internet; It will make it less accessible for all. I urge ICANN to carefully consider the impact of their actions and to determine whether they are being taken in the interest of everyone who uses the internet. The internet is the most democratic, accessible form of communication we have and is the lifeblood of modern society. Let's please keep it that way. Thank you, Kyle --

Hello, As a registrant of multiple .com domains I will happily be moving my business elsewhere should the price increase proposal go through. The prices are fine where they’re at. Increasing the prices continuously will only hurt ordinary citizens and most owners of .com domains. This is not done with the public’s interest in mind, and should be dismissed. Icann must be transparent about exactly why price increases are necessary and of benefit to the consumer. Likewise any monies paid to icann for this price increase need to be clearly defined as for the benefit of the internet community and with their consent. ⁣Best, Ben

I'm writing to comment on the recent changes to the contract ICANN has with Verisign, Inc. who operate the .COM top-level-domain (TLD). It is my understanding through Namecheap that the recent contract changes are problematic for a number of reasons, not the least of which being that the changes were made "without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users," and that "only ICANN and Verisign have participated in this decision." Additionally concerning is "*.COM wholesale domain prices can grow by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade*. The contract also allows for other price increases, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody." Given that "*.COM domains make up 40% of all registered domain names online," *it does, indeed, seem that these "price increases . . . will harm our [Namecheap's] customers (and the Internet as a whole)." It's stated in Namecheap's email to its customers that "This is a crucial time to raise our voices," and I agree. Equally disturbing is that "*Verisign agreed to pay ICANN an additional $20 million dollars over five years to support* ICANN's domain name system initiatives, without any clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure." I felt it important, as a Namecheap customer, to send an email and comment on this unfortunate decision by both entities to make the changes noted above. Sincerely, Theresa Koenke Diaz

I am a registrant of a .com domain name and I'm against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. If the cost to maintain the .com registry is less than $3 per domain per year and consumers are already paying double that cost, I see no reason why consumers should pay an increased price to buy a .com.
