All, I'm attaching a comparison of the current draft to the prior draft of the Unified Access Model statement. I've tried to take the various comments into account and where there were conflicts, to either synthesize them or find a middle ground, in most cases. There were some comments that did not seem to fit, or which seemed to be positions that would not be broadly supported. For example, this did not seem to be the place for a broad rejection or critique of multistakeholderism as it currently exists in ICANN. (I will note that virtually every stakeholder group or structure seems to believe that they are disadvantaged and that some other group is unfairly advantaged -- only the names change.) I cut some of the introductory language and some of the discussion of Appendix E to make this shorter and focus more on ALAC's statements. I also labeled subsections so it would be clear what the fonts were intended to convey. While it is still long-ish, I think it is more clear and readable now. Thanks to all for their comments. I look forward to views on this draft, which we can hopefully finalize very soon. All, Here is a revised statement. I’ve tried to make it shorter and more straightforward, rather than create a whole new executive summary section. The type is larger so the page count hasn’t changed that much. I’ve tried to reflect the facts/concerns underlying the various remaining comments, though not always with the same language.
