Hi Terri and Nacho: I hope you’ve arrived safely in Dublin. Regarding the posting of materials for the Board Readiness briefing, I have attached: 1. a draft slide deck for posting. There might be minor edits. It is long but only to provide the first time audience (since this is an ICANN meeting) with background 2. the PDF of the Report. Please use this version as I found another three typos (one misspelling and two formatting goofs). Hi Everyone: I hope everyone is doing well. Rumour has it (think Adele) that we will have 45 minutes to present and discuss our Recommendations in the Council Working Session in Dublin. Let me know what you think of this agenda. While I think the agenda speaks for itself: 1. The first item is intended to inspire the Council to read the report and conserve time for other items. 2. The second item is intended to provide clarifications and fill in the blanks where the report is not clear. (I’ve re-written one section that was screaming for clarity.) 3. The third item is intended to maintain momentum and implement some changes and improvements. I’m largely through preparation of a slide deck. I’d especially appreciate advice on the last agenda item. How can we set up an implementation discussion to encourage timely adoption and implementation of recommendations? Thanks everyone - agenda below: Kurt AGENDA Board Readiness Report I. Take questions on Methodology & Findings (10-15%) We’ve reviewed the Methodology in earlier sessions. Much of the material in the Findings will be restated in the Recommendations (although the language in the Findings is somewhat blunter and more straightforward). We ask the Council members to read and prepare questions in advance. II. Review of Recommendations (55-65%) The team developed six sets of Recommendations. We’ll briefly review each and stop for questions after each. We think the most meaningful Recommendations are toward the front, so it will be ok to spend more time on them. III. Implementation Planning (25-30%) Discuss areas that the Council might pursue to achieve timely implementation. These might include: a. A briefing for the Board as they have certain responsibilities b. An effort to revise existing procedures and Guidelines c. Building a revised PDP timeline, including resource requirements d. Staffing the effort to accomplishing the above – this might be GNSO only, GNSO and staff, or GNSO, staff and Board e. Set a completion target

Hi John: Do you have a Word version of the report for editing. I have no substance to add but some slight re-organisation would aid in reader understanding. I am particularly thinking of the recommendation 4.2 where there are several recommendations that could be organised/ordered/categorised in a better way. The idea came to mind when I was creating the slide deck describing the paper. I think it’d be okay to re-issue a slightly revised paper without changing any of the substance. It’s say, less than 2 minutes per recommendation, many of which have multiple detailed recommendations. I also think an important discussion of next steps also must occur. We could suggest as an alternative - that we be given a block of time during the Council working session Sunday of the Dublin meeting. I think it is a good set-up for a meaningful discussion. I’d like to hear what you think - we only have a couple days prior to the next Council meeting.
