This is an interesting one given I’m part of the resolution and so is one of my colleagues, and it has made me reflect on our parallel discussions about conflicts and statements of interest. I think my conclusion is that my interests are all open and declared, and there’s no particular benefit or advantage in me voting (or abstaining from voting), and it’s not a competitive election or remunerated position, and so on that basis I am also happy to cast my vote in support. But I think it’s an interesting real life test of the SoI/ conflicts discussion so would be interested in any other views! Hi Nick, From a purely parliamentary point of view - though we write the rules as we go - you are entirely entitled to vote for yourself. If you are thinking about it from COI and SOI, which is very much appreciated, unless you have a job lined up or are a major shareholder in a company that deals with DNS abuse outside the normal confines of what a TLD of your size does there would be no direct conflict. This then leaves perceived. This is grey in that it allows each of us to evaluate our actions against what our own national standard is, or the corporate governance we are used too. In the end, be of clear conscience in that casting a vote is within parliamentary precedent and abstaining is setting an example. Both are entirely valid and both hold up to the standard of good governance! I’m just thrilled you contemplated it! Me Sent from my iPhone
